This Cookie Policy explains how Zulu Code (Pty) Ltd ('we', 'us' or 'our') uses cookies and similar browser storage on our website at cutq.co.za ('Website'). It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
The short version
The Website does not use advertising cookies, analytics or tracking cookies, or tracking pixels, and does not serve targeted advertising. It stores only what it needs to keep you signed in and to remember a few choices you make.
What are cookies and browser storage?
Cookies are small data files that a website places on your computer or phone. Browser storage (such as local storage and session storage) is a similar technology that lets a website keep small pieces of information in your browser. We refer to both as 'cookies' in this policy.
Cookies set by the website you are visiting are called 'first-party' cookies. Cookies set by another company through that website are called 'third-party' cookies.
What we store and why
All of the following are first-party and strictly necessary for the Website to work. They are not used to track you across other websites.
| Purpose | What it does | How long it stays |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in | Keeps you signed in to your CutQ account as you move between pages, and remembers you if you choose 'Remember me'. | Until you sign out, or clear your browser's data |
| Sign-up and verification | Holds the details of a sign-up, one-time code or password reset while you complete it. | Until the step is complete, or the browser tab is closed |
| Your choices | Remembers which role (customer or business) and which business you last used, and where to return you after you sign in. | Until you sign out, or clear your browser's data |
| Referral links | Remembers the referral code in a link you followed, so the person who invited you is credited when you sign up. | Until you sign up, or clear your browser's data |
Third-party services
To display the Website, your browser downloads fonts from Google Fonts and code libraries from jsDelivr and cdnjs, and address search sends what you type to Google Maps Platform. These providers receive your IP address and browser details, as any website you connect to does, and are governed by their own privacy policies. We do not allow them to use the Website to set advertising cookies.
How can I control cookies?
Because every cookie we use is strictly necessary, we do not show a cookie banner. You can still block or delete cookies and browser storage in your browser's settings at any time. If you do, you will be signed out and some parts of the Website, such as signing in and booking, will not work.
How to do this depends on your browser. See the help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge and Opera.
The CutQ app
The CutQ mobile app does not use cookies. It stores your sign-in session and settings on your device, and does not contain advertising or analytics software. Our Privacy Policy explains what the app collects.
Changes to this policy
If we start using a new kind of cookie, such as analytics, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before setting it. The date at the top of this policy shows when it was last updated.
