What the verification badges mean
A badge means CutQ checked something specific. It never means we recommend someone. Tap a badge in the app to see which levels a provider holds.
- Level 1 · Photo verified — The person took a live selfie that matched the photo on their profile. If they change the photo, it is checked again.
- Level 2 · ID verified — They photographed a South African ID (smart card or green book) or passport, matched it to a live selfie, and Home Affairs confirmed the ID number. Needs to be 18 or older.
- Level 3 · Business verified — ID verified, and the business was checked as well: a CIPC certificate with a registry lookup, or a code that proved they run the TikTok or Instagram page they list.
Verification helps, but it is not a guarantee that someone is who they say they are. Meet where you feel comfortable, and report anything that worries you.
